The UPC series features intelligent battery technology, allowing users to monitor and manage the battery’s status directly through the user interface. The UPC-12A boasts a 12.1-inch XGA LCD screen with sunlight-readable 1000 nits screen option. The UPC series are equipped with battery packs providing emergency power when the main power source is not available, eliminating the risks from sudden mains power loss, permitting extremely flexible integration into a wide variety of applications. The UPC-12A single core computing series are designed for embedded performance grade applications. The UPC-12A features an Intel® GM45/910GMLE/915GME chipset, providing total compatibility in a wide variety of high performance end lower power industrial control applications.

The UPC series also provide many expansion interfaces including a standard 32-bit PCI slot for a PCI add-on card, and a PCIe Mini card socket for a PCIe Mini card such as a wireless module. The UPC-12AH includes a sunlight-readable 1000 nits option for high brightness applications such as outdoor ATM machines or military use. All of the UPC series are constructed with rugged die-cast aluminum enclosures. The UPC series features the high speed Wi-Fi IEEE 802. n protocol which builds on the 802.11 standard by adding multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and 40 MHz operation to the physical (PHY) layer. MIMO uses multiple transmitter and receiver antennas to improve the system performance. The 40 MHz operation uses wider bands, compared to legacy 20 MHz bands, supporting higher data rates. Wider bandwidth channels are cost effective and easily accomplished with moderate increases in digital signal processing.
